Due to forecasted treacherous travel conditions sweeping the state of Kansas throughout the weekend, the Barton Community College athletic department announces changes to its scheduled events.
The track and field team has cancelled their trip to Lincoln, Nebraska, as the Cougars were scheduled to participate in the Holiday Inn Invitational on Friday and Saturday. Head Coach David Schenek begins his search to fill the void in the schedule with a meet for the weekend of January 21.
The basketball teams’ trip on Saturday to Chanute, Kansas, has also been affected and rescheduled for Monday, January 16. The Lady Cougars will tip-off at Neosho County Community College at 2:00 p.m. with the Cougars taking on the Panthers at approximately 4:00 p.m.
Unaffected by the impending weather, the wrestling squad will compete as scheduled today in Kearney, Nebraska. The Cougars have five matches today in the Midwest Duals beginning at 9:00 a.m. and concluding by 5:00 p.m. enabling the squad to return home before the weather changes.
